My family and I viewed Hadestown on Broadway in New York City, this weekend and we felt it was necessary to write and share just how extraordinary the experience was.
We went in knowing very little about the musical as it was recommended to us by a friend. From start to finish, we loved absolutely everything about the production. The music was stunning, the choreography captivating, and the singing was spectacular. The use of lighting was especially mesmerizing and added so much depth and emotion to the storytelling.
Every element worked together so beautifully that we found ourselves completely transported. Hadestown is now, without question, our favorite musical.
Thank you for creating such a powerful, moving, and unforgettable work of art. We will be thinking about this show for a very long time.

See Wolfe Before He is Gone!
"While the overall experience was visually thrilling (a rotating stage, swinging lights, and a stellar jazz ensemble), my highlight was Jack Wolfe as Orpheus. From his subtle and tender moments to his impassioned Wait For Me, I was captivated every second. Which is saying a lot because there were so many talented singers on stage. I would definitely recommend catching this show before Jack’s gone!"

Mythology - funky and wild - served by fantastic talent
"Everything had a jazzy, funky cool vibe. The opening was dynamic and also efficient, introducing everyone. Orpheus voice was astonishing- never heard anything like it! High and light but powerful. All the voices were super, down to Hades booming basso profundo. All musicians visible on stage and part of everything which I love. The stage was innovative with circular moving areas with an up/down center. I recommend this show very highly. You’ll have a great time. The curtain call was as classy as anything ever. Kudos to Hermes for his wicked funky cool vibe!"

Beautiful, worthwhile show with an excellent cast
"The current cast of Hadestown is bringing a fresh take to an already incredible musical. The acting, especially from Eurydice and Persephone, brings a new level of depth and pain to the roles. You can see all the thought these actors have put into everything they sing and say. Vocals are also amazing, especially from Orpheus, who is out of this world. The live band plays their heart out, and seeing them onstage alongside the actors is a special and unique part of the experience. This whole cast has great chemistry and works together very well to tell a heartfelt, tragic, and hopeful story. It feels like they’re welcoming the audience in to join them on the journey. I laughed, I cried, and I left a little different than when I came in. Worth every penny."

Hadestown is mesmerizing!
"I fell in love with this show when my son's high school performed it last year. The music is just incredible. I was so thrilled to come to NYC and see it on Broadway and even more excited to see Jack Wolfe as Orpheus (my kids had really hyped him up!) Well, the entire cast did not disappoint! Morgan Dudley, Kurt Elling, Allison Russell and Paulo Szot were all also fantastic (as were the ensemble/ workers). Of course, Jack's voice is nothing short of perfection. Go see this cast! The show is fantastic and they have wonderful chemistry together! Paulo Szot even came to the stage door in the freezing cold and signed our Playbill! A true gentleman!"

2nd time around - just as amazing!
"I saw it in March of 2024 and that cast was sensational. The Orpheus on that night was the understudy, but this time around, we got to see Wolfe perform the role. Wow! He is a rising star, for sure, with a vocal range that is unreal. His acting of the part was so good and so real as well. Hermes started a bit slow for me, but as the show went on, he really showed out as a great addition to this round's cast. The Persephone, Eurydice, and Hades were ALL sensational, too. It was so fun to see a different cast's take on their parts, but probably most particularly Persephone. This is strange for me to say, but I would go back to see this same show again in two years!"

🎵Wait~ for me, I'm coming... BACK🎵
"The performance was nothing short of breathtaking, it was extraordinary. From the moment the actors came on Stage there was an electric energy on the stage; with every actor giving it their all. The story had such a depth and authenticity that made the story feel alive. The love story of Orpheus and Eurydice is beautiful, tender, and heartbreaking... Not to mention the ensemble give such emotion to every scene and emotion; they are constantly in motion and giving everything they've got. The vocals in Hadestown are nothing short of extraordinary; I believe I had goosebumps for the majority of the musical. While every actor gave a stunning performance and powerful vocals; I must say Jack Wolfe's performance as Orpheus shook me to the bone; wow, just wow. I had chills. Not to mention my son (17), who has seen the musical before and will be auditioning for Orpheus at his school soon, was smiling from ear to ear as if the story was brand new. While the vocals told the story, the orchestra gave the foundation and structure for every song; they played so confidently and beautifully that it helped the story come together. Visually speaking, Hadestown is stunning. The minimalist set, powerful lighting, and smooth transitions all give the stage a natural beauty. While I want to recommend this musical to almost everybody; I feel like, to watch this musical one needs some maturity as it is an important message, and might confuse some younger children. Overall, if you want a breathtaking and heartacheing performance that will leave the theater is silence... don't turn around and come see Hadestown. I know that I can't wait to come back! 🌹🎸🎵🚉"

Hadestown, A Stunning Introduction To Broadway
"This was our very first broadway show and it was absolutely amazing! It delivered in every way possible! The songs and score were breathtaking: sweet and heartfelt at times and tough and gritty at others. Morgan Dudley played an amazing Eurydice. She played the character so real, we could feel the struggle in her as she sang; and Jack Wolf was a perfect Orpheus with his high and sweet voice. The stage design was fantastic! The way they utilized the moving parts of the set was nothing short of awe inspiring! We are so glad we chose Hadestown was our first broadway experience and what an experience it was!"

"Be prepared for the two and a half hours + that this show lasts. Vocals are incredible songs are great. It is helpful if you have a rough understanding of the mythology, but it’s not necessary. A 15 minute search and review was helpful for us."
