The winner of the Tony Award® for Best Musical is The Outsiders. This classic coming-of-age story takes you to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967, where Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, and their family of Greaser “outsiders” dream about who they want to become in a world that will never accept them. The Outsiders features a “tuneful and soul-bearing” (New York Stage Review) original score, “high-octane choreography” (New York Magazine), and a “sensational young cast” (The Wall Street Journal) that brings the show to life.
There is a rain effect on stage. Drops of water and small rubber pieces from the stage floor may land in or near the first two rows of the Orchestra section (rows A and B).
"I absolutely loved this production!!! It was a dream come true to travel from Melbourne Australia to see this in NYC and it did not disappoint. From the performance to the stage setting, I could not say a bad word as it was so moving, it brought me to tears. Outstanding in every way and highly recommend!!!"

Saw the play two days ago, can't stop thinking about it!
"The Outsiders is not to be missed! The musical numbers and the choreography (amazing fight scene) were spectacular. This, combined with a great stage setup made for a wonderful theater experience. Also, after reading the Playbill, I was shocked to discover that this was the theatrical debut for many in the cast!"

Amazing translation of the book
"Loved this show!! Performances were perfect, songs added so much to the show and set design and choreography were phenomenal!! It’s been years since reading the book and the show built out the world of Ponyboy and the Greasers in an authentic, moving and fascinating way. Our 30 year old kids loved it as much as we did! "

First time theater visit
"This was our first broadway show. The theater was simply beautiful, amazing to see the architecture. The play was great, we never read the book just saw the movie. Thought they did a good job in following what I remember how the movie went. Same characters not all of them but the main ones. Play flowed nicely. I was unaware about this being a musical I really just saw the name of the play and booked it. I was surprised by how they incorporated the music into all the scenes I remember. The cast was amazing, the acting, the singing top notch. Definitely worth seeing I believe . "
